Love goes through the stomach and if you’re looking for the ultimate dessert, look no further! Warm baked apples with a homemade caramel sauce, a pinch of Zeeuwsche Zoute Puur and a scoop of vanilla ice cream to top it off. This dessert is quick, easy and super delicious!

Peel the apples, remove the core and slice them. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the apple slices and fry for 5-7 minutes until soft and golden brown. Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon and stir well. Meanwhile, make the caramel. Melt the sugar in a saucepan over low heat. Once the sugar is golden brown, add the whipping cream. Keep stirring until you have a smooth caramel. Remove the pan from the heat and add a pinch of Zeeuwsche Zoute Puur for that delicious salty accent. Divide the warm apples between two plates, scoop in a scoop of vanilla ice cream and pour the salty caramel sauce over the top. Tip: For some extra crunch, sprinkle some (toasted) nuts or granola on top!
