Butter Chicken with naan and Sea Salt Black Garlic

We may be primal Dutch, but we also like to look over the border for recipe inspiration. For example, this Indian Butter Chicken with naan is truly something to lick your fingers at! We complete the taste sensation by adding Zeeland Salt Black Garlic. We also share here how to make your own delicious naan.

Preparation

Start by making the marinade for the chicken. To do this, put the Greek yogurt, 2 cloves of garlic, lemon juice, 1 tbsp of Garam Masala and a pinch of Zeeland Salt Black Garlic in a bowl. To this you add the diced chicken thigh and mix well. Then set it aside for a while so it can soak in.

Then we start with the naan. To do this, mix the self-rising baking flour, Zeeuwsche Zoute Puur, nigella seeds and baking powder. Add the yogurt while stirring until a dough forms. Place this dough on a floured countertop so you can knead it there for 2 minutes. It is true that the dough still feels fairly sticky at this point. After the 2 minutes of kneading, place the dough in a ball in the mixing bowl. Let this whole thing rest with a plate on top for 15 minutes.

Then proceed with the Butter Chicken by chopping the onions and gently frying them with sunflower oil in a pan. Next, add the two remaining garlic cloves along with 1 tbsp Garam Masala, paprika and Zeeland Salt Black Garlic. Sauté this for a moment and then add the can of diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil and add the cooking cream. Stir this well. Then add the chicken to this and simmer on low heat until the chicken is cooked. This usually takes about 15 minutes.

While that is simmering, we continue with the naan. Divide the dough into the number of naans you want to make. We usually get 4 to 6 naans out of this dough. Roll out the pieces of dough into a flat disk about half an inch thick. Wipe excess flour from the naan and place it without oil or the like in a hot pan. Flip over when bubbles have formed. Then wait until the other side also has brown spots (not black) and they are done. You can store them in a tea towel so the heat does not dissipate immediately.

When the chicken is cooked add the butter and season with Zeeland Salt Black Pepper and Zeeland Salt Black Garlic.

Enjoy your meal!
