Preparation
- Roll the lemons firmly on the counter so they release their juice more easily. Cut them in half and squeeze out the juice. Strain the juice to remove the seeds.
- Wash the basil and mint. Set aside a few nice leaves for garnish, and gently rub the rest between your hands to release their flavors.
- Put the lemon juice, honey or agave syrup, and the mint and basil leaves in a large pitcher. First, add a small amount of water and stir well until the honey is completely dissolved.
- Pour in the rest of the (sparkling) water and stir. Add two pinches of Zeeuwsche Zoute Puur.
- Taste it and, if necessary, season it further with a little extra honey or lemon juice.
Fill the glasses with ice cubes, pour the lemonade over them, and garnish with a slice of lemon and a few basil and mint leaves.
Tip: For an extra summery twist, you can also add a few slices of cucumber or a handful of frozen red berries.
