Chocolate, (almost) everyone loves it! We have something new: our salt is used in the chocolate of ZoeteZee. A small but special chocolate atelier in Westende-Bad, on the Belgian coast. Zeeuwsche Zoute is used as an ingredient in this caramel sea salt praline, which is shaped like an old sea dyke tile of the Belgian coast. And what exactly is such a sea dyke tile? They are those recognizable, yellow-brown tiles you used to walk over on the dike. At ZoeteZee, they used one to make a chocolate mold out of.
ZoeteZee is not a normal chocolate store where you just pick up your favorite flavor. It is a creative chocolate studio run by Leen and Dirk. They make chocolate with a story, inspired by the coast and nature. The store features fun names and unusual shapes, from their famous “Boxes of Sea” to creations shaped like oysters, crabs and razor blades. According to them, chocolate should not only be tasted, but also experienced and understood. With their Taste Imprezzies, Experience Imprezzies and Learn Imprezzies, one gets a mix of surprising flavors, cool tastings and interactive workshops.
ZoeteZee is not in the Gault&Millau guide for nothing and has already won several awards. Their store is truly a tasty experience. Are you in the neighborhood of Westende-Bad? Then step inside, score a sea tile with caramel sea salt and immediately pick up an extra box of your favorite chocolate.
