Champagne cocktail with cognac and orange

New Year’s Eve is all about being together and taking a moment to reflect on all that has happened in the past year. As the evening moves towards midnight, this is a nice moment to pour one more good glass. This champagne cocktail is different from the standard champagne. The pinch of Zeeuwsche Zoute Puur gives it more depth: not too sweet, not too heavy: perfect to toast the new year.

Preparation

  1. Place the sugar cube in the glass and drizzle the bitters on top.

  2. Sprinkle the pinch of sea salt over the sugar cube.

  3. Add brandy and orange juice.

  4. Gently pour in the champagne and stir once briefly.

Serve
Finish with orange peel, lightly squeezed over the glass.
